By Anonymous VISTA, Calif., -- Despite an unusually cold and drizzly Saturday afternoon at San Diego’s Qualcomm Stadium June 7, Brother Love’s concert helped MDA raise $10,000 for children with Muscular Dystrophy in San Diego county.
"It’s uplifting to know that our efforts can make a difference. The people who came out to support MDA were one of the best audiences Brother Love has ever performed for. We are privileged to have been among such caring people that day,” explains Brother Love singer Gary Day.
The two hour concert included a departure from the band’s usual rocked up renditions of Diamond’s material. Day for the first time performed “Play Me”, “If There Were No Dreams” “September Morn” and “If You Know What I Mean” to a piano accompaniment by guest performer Joseph Callery.
Within minutes after the event’s conclusion, a heavy down pour began. “The weather wasn’t our best friend at the fundraiser, but at least the worst of it waited”, MDA Coordinator Stacy Wolfe.
